Alacrity

Alacrity – as lively as the name suggests, the two-day annual techno-cultural fest of SIEM ushers in cheerful energy and enthusiasm into the regular, mundane routine of college life for the students as well as the faculty and staff. The students get to organize, participate and learn in these two days. They also get to adapt, adopt as they mingle with students from other colleges in North Bengal and Sikkim.

During the process of organizing the fest, the students learn to hone their public relations as they go and interact with various business houses for sponsorship. They learn to execute their classroom learning in practical life as they develop and design the website of the fest; create teasers, promos, posters of the events; learn social media advertising as they promote the event through various social media platforms. Overall, they get to realize and gauge their individual potential as they work hard to put together the show.

• DAY ONE – DERNIER CRI
  The first day of the event kick starts with the technical events and is named Dernier Cri, Students participate in various technical events like technical model competition, CAD drawing, online gaming, welding, carpentry, Bridge –It, Arch it to name a few. The evening witnesses band and DJ performances.
• DAY TWO – ALACRITY
  On the second day, students get to compete in various cultural events like, dance competition, fashion show, rock band competition, solo singing, instrumental, T-shirt painting, collage making, photography etc. The brainy lot battles it out in Just a Minute, debate, quiz and Flip-Flop. Every year, various celebrity artists perform in the evening of the second day. After having worked hard for almost two months, the students finally get to let their hair down in the finale celebrity performance.

• ALACRITY III :
  Mohit Gaur – top contestant of the reality singing show ‘India’s Raw Star’ & Remanti Rai – winner of North East Superstar.
• ALACRITY IV :
  Underground Authority – the alternative rock/rap rock band.
• ALACRITY V :
  Tollywood Stars – Soham Chakraborty and Payel Sarkar & M.Sonic- finalist of India’s Got Talent.
• ALACRITY VI :
  Abijit Ganguly – renowned stand–up comedian.
• ALACRITY VII :
  Stebin Ben – renowned Indian Singer who has given voice for TV Series.
