Civil Engineering
Surendra Institute of Engineering and Management has one of the best Civil Engineering departments in the whole of North Bengal. The Department of Civil Engineering (CE) conducts fundamental and applied research to advance the civil engineering professions, educate future academic and industry leaders, and prepare students for their careers in professional practice. Civil engineers are educated to sustain the natural environment while creating and maintaining the built environment.
The Department of Civil Engineering has distinguished itself by its rapid progress and achievements since its inception in 2010. It has experienced staff members, specialized in different fields of Civil Engineering. It is well equipped with state of the art testing laboratories. The Soil Mechanics laboratory, Transportation laboratory, Surveying laboratory, Geology laboratory, Concrete laboratory, RCC Detailing laboratory, Environment laboratory, Solid Mechanics laboratory, Fluid Mechanics laboratory are fully equipped with modern equipment and machineries. The incessantly maintained student-teacher relationship helps in bringing out the latent talent of students and updates them to evolve as competent professionals.
Many of our students are now working with various prestigious companies, while many are pursuing their higher studies from NIT’s, IIT’s and other higher institutions. They have carried forward the legacy of excellence and professionalism even in their present areas of work and study.
